All's Quite on the Eastern Front

WOW, is it ever quite outside!!!

Just took the pups out for their 2:00am bathroom break and the silence is deafening.  Ok, I know what you’re thinking, it should be silent on a Monday night at 2:00, but not in my town it’s not.

Oh wait, you’re thinking 2:00 am??? Yeah, it could be two, three, four – just depends on when the 15 year old doggie decides it’s time to go and well, we take her, because, she has to go (and she still asks us)!!!!

Anyway, back to my original thought.  Public School starts tomorrow, um – today, really – because it’s 2:00am.  But all summer long there has been either a basket ball game or a pool game going in one of my neighbor’s yards (garage for the pool table).  ALL SUMMER….

So, when you go outside, day or night, you hear the echoing “dwunk” of a basketball being bounced off the ground or the sharp “click” of pool balls hitting each other.   I think it’s great, the kids are doing something constructive together and having fun, plus at the end of almost three months, they have to be getting really, really good at these sports.  Things they can use – forever!

Especially pool, bet they can make a few bucks later in life when they are hanging at the bar. Picking up mad pool skills when you’re teenager, has to be priceless!!

Anyway, it’s just eerie outside.  Ok, again, I know, it’s supposed to be quite in the middle of the night. But we also live near a highway and even that is quite tonight.

It’s like Christmas and the kids are waiting for Santa, tucked all snug in their beds, sleeping – except it’s not Santa – it’s SCHOOL…. Bwahahahahahahahaha

Ah, it’s good to be a grown up.

Goodnight all!
