Jurassic Court

Beasties of all sizes live here!

Apparently a dinosaur lost his toenail in our yard.

No really, I swear.  I have it here in my hand.

Rosie found it…and then she hid it.

Unfortunately for little Miss Rosie (she is not the smartest little beastie in the land) she hid it somewhere she could not retrieve it.

Generally puppy shares with me her finds or if she knows I won’t like them – she puts them under a bed.  Being a Dachshund, she can walk under the beds in the house standing normally– she’s short (it’s a thing with the girls here).

But this one – this big giant toenail was super special – what a find – right here in Detroit, a Dino toenail – this is no woolly mammoth (which would also be cool) – right here – on our property.  This had to go somewhere special.

For three days she was trying to get at something under the dresser.  Ah, the dresser – not something that gets a lot of attention or cleaning underneath.   So I knew the dust bunnies were massive and to be honest, I wasn’t exactly anxious to see what she had been chest diving for (I didn’t smell anything dead – but hey, you never know).  And actually her chest worked as a good duster for the first 6 inches under the dresser.

Finally, finally after three days I grabbed a flashlight and looked under.

WHAT IN THE HELL IS THAT?

I’ve never seen anything like that in my life, what the hell is it?  Turn, look at the dog – who is super exited I am going to extricate it for her.

But alas, I am not.  I’m not touching it.  This is a job for hubby man and I am going to leave it for him.

So with the find of the Dino Toenail somewhere in our yard, I assume we are going to become a popular little part of town.  Can’t be any more traffic than the Baptist Church across the street right? Well, if they had picks and backhoes that is…

I swear I heard a weird noise outside a few nights ago – but it was so loud, I was afraid to peek out and look, must have been the sound a Dino makes when he stubs his toe and looses a nail.
